I received an ad in the mail for a Southern Living Cookbook. I don't need another cookbook (I have PLENTY as it is) but I knew they always put a few recipes in their cookbook ads so I flipped through and found this:
Yes, those are coffee cup rings on the page...
Though the recipe is for making your own orange-y crescent rolls from scratch, I had 2 containers of plain crescent rolls in the fridge that needed to be used up before their expiration date. So I baked those up...
So YUMMY! Even The Boy - who doesn't care for much of anything citrus flavored, loved them. I'll have to try the entire recipe sometime, but this was a great spur-of-the-moment treat! Here's the glaze recipe (couldn't find it on the Southern Living website to link to):
Orange Glaze
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 TBS orange juice (I used 1 TBS concentrate since that's all I had on hand and didn't want to make a whole batch of OJ)
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
