November Snow

The first snow of the season didn't bring much excitement (there was only a dusting at our house).

The second snow of the season brought 6 inches of frozen fun and lots of excitement.

Now this third snow of the season, with approximately 8 inches of white wonder, closed schools for the day. But the "Pickles" didn't rush outside quite as quickly as they did the previous week. They were up bright and early with their alarm clocks but chose to stay indoors for several hours keeping warm until there was a knock at the door by neighboring children wanting to play. And so it began...again.

Once again, we took a poll - The Boy won guessing 7 inches total (he guessed the highest amount).

I chose to stay indoors for most of the day but I did manage to get outside to shovel the driveway and sidewalk hoping they would have a chance to drive before Mr. LH got home from work. HOW did he drive in this mess?

The "Pickles" went sledding down the road and made snow forts in the backyard with their friends.

They (The Boy and 4 girls) came in and drank up all the hot chocolate in the house and ate every goldfish cracker they could find (The Boy was trying his best to keep his Sour Cream and Onion Goldfish away from the hungry girls). They played video games, watched part of a movie, and then (thankfully) the girls holed up in one room to play.

They all had a wonderful day but I can't tell you how relieved I was to have the neighborhood girls go home at dinnertime! The volume level in the house immediately dropped as soon as the front door closed behind them. I didn't even play that day and I was plumb worn out.

And in case you're counting, that's 14 inches of snow so far this year. By this time last year, we hadn't even gotten a flake!
